Boat Tours
Allow a Guide to take you out on one of our several personal outboard
tours. All boat tours are subject to the local tidal flows and weather.
"Trip to James Bay"
A guided boat tour via
freighter canoe from the mouth of the Moose River to the
salt waters of the James Bay. Beach on Shipsands Bird Sanctuary
where you will be given the chance to photograph the wildlife and
tidal marine fauna. A guide will stop at various points explaining
tidal progression, ancient travel marks used by navigators, unique
landmarks and historical information on the James Bay Area. |

"Sunset Boat Tour"
Allow a guide to take you for a boat ride around Moose Factory
Island sharing history and lore about the area. Take the perfect
photograph of the sun setting on the beautiful Moose River.
The Cree Village Ecolodge supports independent and local tour
operators. Please note that all boat tour operators work independently
of the lodge. The Front Desk will contact and assist in arranging
a tour with one of the boat tour operators.

"Tour the Ecolodge"
As we walk through the building, we will introduce you to the unique story of the Cree Village Ecolodge and describe its many technologies and features. As the first modern ecolodge designed and created by Indigenous people in the northern hemisphere, we will share the story of how the MoCreebec people continue to adapt to changing environments with traditional principles.
Upon request at the Front Desk, a tour will be arranged at a convenient time for guests. No cost.

"Paddler's Dream"*
Venture out onto the Moose River in your own canoe! Our aluminum canoes are available daily for your enjoyment.
$15.00 / hour each

"Bike Around The Town"*
Take the whole family out for a relaxing bike ride around Moose
Factory on our bikes!
Adult Bike - $10.00/ hour each
Children Bike - $5.00 / hour each
Helmets, caravan, baby seat and bike locks are complimentary.

Self Guided: Walk along Moose Factory's nature
trail
starting just steps from the Ecolodge! Inspect many of the native
plants and herbs still used by the Cree people.
